Short Story Friday ... Snippet Time

Your dear Short Story Friday authors, including yours truly, have mostly taken a break from Short Story Fridaying as we've all busy doing other stuff. But to keep some semblance of regularity in our blogging, we agreed to share snippets or pieces of our works in progress or any other work we've already written (you gotta give us some credit here, we're trying).

AND with that intro, I have to apologize because I haven't actually shared anything my dear writer buddies have been sharing these past few weeks. I'll do so now, so expect a few back-to-back posts!
