Just published: The Thirst Within Book 1

It's done! The Thirst Within, the first book in my new series about vampires, is uploaded and awaiting publication on Amazon.com.

Here's the cover:

Thanks to the very talented K.LeMaire for his work on the cover!

I finished at little over 80K words, of which 50K I wrote in November for NaNoWriMo. 80K is a good length in my humble opinion. My first book Resurgence has 90K. (By comparison, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone has 77K words, and Twilight has 119K, according to the Internet).

I decided to enroll in KDP Select, which basically keeps me from publishing that book in other sites, such as Barnes and Noble, in exchange of certain benefits from Amazon. Since the bulk of my sales is in Amazon, I figured it wouldn't kill me to enroll. It's not permanent, too, so after six months, I think, I can publish in other sites. I'll tell you aall about it later...

If you own a Nook or other e-reader and would like a copy of The Thirst Within, email me at johi.jenkins at gmail.com for options. Remember the Kindle app is free and available for your phones and tablets an alternative to owning a Kindle.

Here's the blurb about The Thirst Within:

Seventeen-year-old Tori Green is an orphan—again. She was raised by her grandparents after an accident claimed the lives of her parents when she was a child. But after her last surviving grandparent passes away, Tori must move across the country to a new family that doesn't seem to care about her.

In a new city full of new faces and new experiences, Tori finds solace in her new friend, Thierry, for whom she falls head over heels despite her many reserves towards the handsome stranger. Thierry appears to genuinely care about Tori, until his brother shows up hinting towards a relationship that can never be.

What is Thierry's secret that keeps him away from Tori?

The Thirst Within is tailored for a young adult audience and contains language, mild violence, and sexual situations, not recommended for readers under the age of 17.

What's the secret? Oh, can you guess?? Don't laugh at me... I hate writing blurbs. It's a lot harder than it should be.

Anyway, keep you guys posted!
